This was a lot more difficult than I anticipated it to be. Not only was I challenged to shade the drawing, I also didn't know how to draw a popcorn. It was far from byzantine and popcorn would always look like a new continent other than an actual popcorn. Regardless, this was a challenge and it really helped my grow as an artist as now I have some idea of what it is to shade. I would always try to avoid shading because I really never knew how to therefore I was afraid to even try it out. As I got more into the exercise, the better the contour got but the shading was still really awkard. All in all, now that I have tried this out, I can now say I'm willing to experiemnt with shading more,

One of the most basic things in any sketches is value. The value scale helps with my understanding of shading. It became undeniably difficult to determine if one shade is different from the other because sometimes they're so similar in shading. Still it showed how simple it can be to shade just by being lines closer to each other. Regardless, I now have something to compare to so I hope it helps me make more interesting art work.
Again, the opinion of my partner was " I like it". No criticisms were made except for the theme which seemed like a bunch of girls that are clearly out of league forthe boy they're attached to. So no, there will be no changes as of now.
For this one I think I might keep it simple once again. My skills as an artist are stil more or less the same from the last project and it makes it difficult to draw lots of people in detail. Still, I'm planning on making them realistic and stylish enough to resemble human being. The style of it will hopefully add to a more melancholy feel. The hardest so far, drawing women in provocative poses. Holy crap do they just have curves. Especially since some of these are tampered with. For this one I think I might keep it simple once again. Especially since some of these are tampered with.It sounded difficult to do at first but after a drawing for a bit, I got into it. It was a bit challenging to do because I make 2D art. I've always wanted to have some sort of cool background and this of course, was good practice. The face was challenging too since I am terrible at drawing faces. I always mess up somewhere and when i try to fix it, i end up making it worse by accident, However, with this one i really tried to pay attention to the negative space and I feel like it turned out fine. The forehead it a bit off but it doesn't matter, I'll pay attention on my future works.I didn't really have to think of this much, it just came to me and I'm can Intrepurt This in different ways already. I wanted to make a peice pertaining to one's sexuality and dreams. Though I think that will definitely shine through I have a few inprepurtations of this rough sketch. 1. The mysonginistic dream of a man ring surrounded by beautiful women is no secret. In society girls are shamed for having sex and guys are made fun of for not having enough of it. So we a male in the center who isn't even insterested. Is he gay? Asexual? Maybe he's just not interested in the attention. The circles around him are supposed to be a crowd representing on how pressuring and controlling other people are of your sexuality. He has the option for freedom(the gun) and escape from society's grasp and be whatever he would like to be. He also has the exist which is the alternative to the gun, but he'll continue his life as it was before. While the females will be nude, the male will be fully dressed. This is because I was watching some clips from Miss America Beauty Pageant and in the swim suit competition the host(male) was standing in front of them fully clothed presenting them as "beauuuutiful!" With hand movements similar to how someone would present a trophy. 2. It struck me while sketching it how much it kind of reflects my current frustrations. I won't go into any detail since I'm sure no one wants to hear it but I thought it would be worth mentioning my personal connections with the peice so far. I condensed most of my interpretation on the first one as I realized it all fit in. This may be one of my more powerful peices if I pull it off correctely. Figure sketching was what one would imagine doing in a drawing class. At least we finally get to it but sadly it didn't last long. I had fun trying to challenge myself to get as much complete in the time I had. It forced me to look at the curves and body movements and how to get it down in a quick time. Drawing people is my main goal for this class since I was never all that good at drawing them. So obviously, I would've like it if we continued this for longer but what can you do. I might practice on my own time. |
