As simple as it is deep, I think I've learned a lot about perceiving negative space instead of the positive. If I could start again, i think i would make the mouths more detailed. I couldn't due to time but I also wouldn't know how to do it but man would it be nice.So for the most part, I'm happy with the piece. As the artist, I'm actually not sure if this capture the essence of loneliness. I really do hope that's what comes across. I believe the biggest risk was just going for it. I'm not to confident in my drawing skills but i getting a hell of lot better.
Nothing has changed since i have received feedback. It seems to me that she like what she sees and doesn't feel like I need to change the piece nor my plan. She mentions that spacing is my strong point but I feel like its my lines that are strongest.Well so far so good, if i do say so myself. Though honestly, i was having a few problems with the legs since it kind of looked short. Also i have my boots on and my jeans rolled up, so that brought a little bit more challenge to the table.I just continued and eventually it tuned out well. So far, no change in plans.
Since we're working on perceiving negative space, i think ill make this a black and white drawing. It may help up the ante with the atmosphere. Its be an all black crowd in the background with white mouths and our center of attention person is also going to be white. He's also going to be surrounded by white mouths, as to mock him for how much he isn't doing with them.As for drawing them, I'm just going to draw the outside.
This one just came to me, though if i have to say where i got my inspiration from, its probably from a psychedelic band named tame impala. They have music with a lonely atmosphere and lyrics about being lonely. After all the album is called Lonerism. I thought about the feeling of feeling alone even in the presences of others or like how you check out Facebook only to see that all of your friends are having fun while your stuck at work or inside watching Netflix. My goal to capture that feeling or at least get the message across.
